Additional Considerations

• The victim must reside in Ontario
• The request must be made no later than 14 days after the crime is reported
• There is an immediate need for emergency expenses, counseling and/or funeral expense that is directly attributable to the crime
• There are no other resources available to meet the victims immediate need, e.g. private insurance plan, ODSP, WSIB, Ontario Works, Criminal Injuries Compensation Boards or other publicly  funded services
• The victim has not previously received funding from this source for the the same criminal offence
• The funds are expended in Ontario
• The victim is not charged in the reported occurrence.
